PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Camino Real Peruvian Horse Club – President’s Letter
Spring, 2006
Dear Friends:
It’s hard to believe that 6 months have passed since our great (in spite
of Hurricane Rita) 2005 show. We are already preparing to make the 8th
Annual Camino Real Peruvian Horse Club Championship Show in 2006 even
better than ever for all of you.
We have moved the Camino Real show date back one week in September to
the weekend of the 15th to 17th, 2006. This change gives you 3 ½ weeks
to rest up and prepare before the NAPHA National Show. The 2006 show
will again be held at the spacious and convenient Somervell County
Exposition Center in Glen Rose, Texas.
We have reserved rooms in a newly opened hotel, America’s Best Value
Inn, which is just ¼ mile from the Expo Center. As you know, hotel rooms
in Glen Rose are at a premium so we encourage you to make your
reservations early. The telephone number for the hotel is: (254)
879-2111. Tell them you are with the Camino Real Show to reserve a room
at our show rate. Additional information about this hotel and other
local accommodations will soon be posted on the Camino Real website at:

I am very excited to announce that our judge for the show will be the
Honorable Jose’ (Pepe) Risso Montes. Sr. Risso is a highly respected
judge who is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and encouraging to
new exhibitors. We are honored that he has agreed to come to judge our
show.
We will have our usual slate of Breeding and Performance classes along
with our unique Novice, Amateur-Owner to Ride, and Gait Divisions. The
2006 class list will be the same as in 2005 and our new premium list and
entry form will be posted on our website soon. Both the premium list and
entry forms are downloadable from the website. Printed copies will be
mailed in early August.
Our Awards Chairperson, Rita Rothenberg, has again found some unique and
beautiful prizes for our show. Our Championship and High Point Award
jackets are highly coveted and are a special feature of our show.
So, mark your calenders now for September 15-17, 2006 and plan to join
us in Glen Rose, Texas for an exciting and fun weekend with our Peruvian
Horses!
